Why should you use Studio Minidragon to have your figures painted?

Quality and Attention to detail...

There are a lot of painting services out there to choose from. Minidragon stands out because of the exceptional quality of my finished pieces and the attention to even the most minute detail that I lavish on every figure I paint.

I really love it when people tell me "I see something new each time I look at your figures!" Wargaming and collectible miniatures have tons of detail that can be easily overlooked or ruined by a bad paint-job. I strive to call attention to all this wonderful detail; I bring it to the forefront and make it plain for you to see instead of hiding it with neutral tones, drab colors, and thick, hastily applied glazes.

My painting Résumé

I believe that there is more to being a great miniature painter than pure technical skill, I think that it also requires knowledge of the various games and genres and a love for the wargaming hobby. That said, technical skill definitely is of great importance and I certainly bring a great deal of skill and experience to the table. Some of my accomplishments include:

  • A Games Workshop Golden Demon award
  • 2 Privateer Press Grand Master Painting Competition Honorable Mention awards
  • Numerous Origins Painting Competition 1st place and Best of Show awards
  • Several on-line painting competition wins
  • My work has been featured in books and magazines including White Dwarf, Harbinger, No Quarter, and the Cool Mini or Not coffee table book.
  • I've done work for several miniature manufacturers including Iron Wind Metals, the sadly defunct Tactical Miniatures, and Comfy Chair Games.

I'm an active participant in the wargaming hobby - I've been playing wargames and painting figures for myself for more than twenty years. In al that time I've gained experience with almost every genre and scale of miniature out there! Miltiary, Fantasy, Historicals, Sci-Fi, 54mm, 28mm, 6mm, the list goes on and on! I really love the process of bringing a cool concept for a figure to reality - my dabbling in so many different areas allows me to be much more creative than if I were to limit myself to a particular size and type of figure. In short, I love painting and playing with all types of miniatures!

No less important, I try to give back to the hobby - I'm active in the on-line miniatures community; I'm a regular contributor to the Work Bench section on The Miniatures Page and I am an active artist on CamoSpecs Online.  Finally, as you can see below, I'm ranked well into the top 10% of painters on Cool Mini or Not, the worlds largest online miniature photo gallery.
